Raz is a multi-genre trio based around Essex, UK, playing Jazz, Funk, Pop, and Rock fusion.
'Raz' is a word derived from 'Rock' and 'Jazz'.
Raz began in May 2014 as a college and university project. The band seeks to cross the boundaries of musical genres to create a new blend of sound unique to the band.
Individual members of Raz have 8+ years, experience in music performance and recording.
Raz have frequently performed in London, Ipswich, Essex, and surrounding areas, including: The Birds Nest in London, HotBox and The Bassment in Chelmsford, Colchester Arts Centre, Coda and The Three Wise Monkeys in Colchester, Manor Ballroom Ipswich, Queen st. Brewhouse Colchester, The Sunny Sailors in Maldon and many more brilliant music venues!
Raz have also performed at festivals such as: Claction sea beach fest, Kelvedon fest, Smoke and fire fest, Bnatural fest and the Jazz festival in Harwich.
Not only that but Raz have a great relationship performing with some awesome promotion companies such as: Jazz Social, Rowntree Records, JAR Records, Essex Rocks, and others for live performances.
As a highly creative trio, Raz have collaborated with other acts like: Poppy Scarlett, the up and coming Joe Church, plus many more other fantastic acts. We are always looking to collaborate! For more information on this, please have a look at the websites services page.
When Raz are not performing or collaborating, they are writing new pieces of music, writing over 36 originals in counting. Some of which have been recorded into two albums, three singles and one EP. Which you can find on the websites music page.
